SDO Cabuyao City succeeds in its First PRC accredited training

 

The City Schools Division of Cabuyao triumphed in the conduct of its first training accredited by the Professional Regulation Commission on January 24-26, 2018 at Paseo Premiere Hotel, City of Sta. Rosa entitled “Capacity Building for School Heads, Teacher-Librarians and Learning Resource Advocates: Establishment and Enhancement of Learning Resource Centers” with  Accreditation No. 073-0198.

Dr. Clotilde N. Arcangel, member of the Council for Continuing Professional Development for Professional Teachers of the Professional Regulation Commission graced the opening of the training and discussed significant issues on RA 10912 known as CPD Act and its Implementing Rules and Regulations. The training was spearheaded by Dr. Jonathan F. Bernabe, Education Program Supervisor and In-Charge of Learning Resource Management and Development System (LRMDS) with full support of Dr. Doris DJ. Estalilla, Schools Division Superintendent and Dr. Edna F. Hemedez, Chief of the Curriculum Implementation Division.

The training aims to capacitate key officials and personnel of the schools to enhance  libraries, learning resource centers and organization of book collections. Participants also learned techniques in storybook writing and ways of organizing activities such as storytelling, book fair, reading month and other significant events that are related to enhance reading and curriculum in general. Resource speakers came from prestigious schools, colleges, universities and officers of Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. (PLAI) and Association of Librarians in Laguna Province, Inc. (ALLPI). The 3-day training was monitored by the Professional Regulation Commission and awarded with 15 CPD units, which is the highest units given to a Professional Teacher in a year to complete the required 45 units in three years.

Prior to the conduct of training, the SDO Cabuyao City recently received its accreditation as CPD Provider on August 6, 2017 as the 2nd DepEd Division Office acquired its certification in the entire country with Accreditation No. 2017-073 issued by the Professional Regulation Commission. Upcoming in-service trainings and Division LAC Session will be registered also to benefit the teachers through acquiring units which is needed in the renewal of their professional license.
