Cabuyao pesilats kick their way to best Pencak Silat campaign in CALABARZON Heroes Games

Ogalesco, four others book Palarong Pambansa tickets

               Cabuyao finest pesilats stamped their dominance in Pencak Silat competition as they bagged 6 gold medals in Tanding and Ganda events during the CALABARZON Heroes Games held at Santa Rosa City, Feb.11-12.

              2018 Palarong Pambansa gold-medalist Kazandra C. Ogalesco secured to defend her title in Palarong Pambansa as she grabbed two gold medals both in Tanding and Ganda categories. She finished the dream of her opponent from Quezon province to steal the win against her using roundhouse and forty-five kick.

               Furthermore, another former Palarong Pambansa standout Julius Derla ensured his spot in Davao City after lashing out his contender. Like Ogalesco, Derla nabbed two gold medals in Tanding and Ganda respectively.

               Meanwhile, the angel-faced RSC beginner and Julius’ younger sister, Angel Gwen Derla joined the pool of champions after winning her first gold using her powerful side kick and strong punches in Tanding Category A .

               Joining A. Derla in a historical win for Cabuyao, was Mark Jaspher Dela Pieza who made his first RSC appearance remakable after exhibiting his prowess in Silat after adding two gold medals for Cabuyao.

               “ Cabuyao Team is composed of potential players who hopefully be members of Philippine Pencak Silat Team. Nakita ko ang progress ng mga batang ito, but still they need to improve the perfection of techniques and work harder for their stamina, Chairman Christopher Yabut said in an interview.

               Yabut, Pencak Silat national trainer, added that pensilat Cabuyenos are confident and disciplined athletes.
