Cabuyao City Gov’t, SDO Cabuyao City distribute free laptops to bolster Online Distance Learning
To beef up the offering of Online Distance Learning (ODL) modality, Cabuyao city government through its Local School Board (LSB) and in partnership with the City Schools Division of Cabuyao distributed laptops to 448 public elementary and secondary teachers through its Oplan MEL (Mahusay na Edukasyon para sa Lahat) Distribution of Laptops for Teachers with ODL Classes, February 15.
The initiative was based on the need and assessment of different schools that opted to offer ODL and was conducted to support teachers with their efforts to provide quality education by providing them resource materials that will aid and facilitate better learning.
City Mayor Rommel Gecolea, city council’s committee on education chairperson councilor JC Entredicho, Schools Division Superintendent Hereberto Jose Miranda, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Neil Angeles and members of SDO Cabuyao City top management headed the distribution.
Based on the laptop’s specifications, Bluewave Litebook LB140S has a 14-inches HD display, resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels, Intel Core i3 processor, base speed of 2.4 GHz, with 8 GB RAM and 256 SSD storage.
During the distribution, teacher-beneficiaries were divided into four batches in two different venues in Cabuyao Integrated National High School (CINHS) and Cabuyao Central Elementary School (CCES) to ensure minimum health standards were followed.
Aside from providing laptops to teachers, Cabuyao city government also launched key partnership initiatives with SDO Cabuyao city like MELMovers, TransporMEL and MELTutors to aid the conduct of blended learning modalities in the city.
